I stopped by this spot for takeout since I was nearby for an event and wanted something to enjoy at home. I ordered the BBQ pork noodle roll with mustard, duck fried rice, and chicken wings. Everything was pretty decent, but nothing stood out as amazing. The BBQ pork noodle roll had an okay amount of pork but lacked strong BBQ flavor. The mustard was super strong and spicy, but it added enough flavor to the roll when used sparingly. The duck fried rice didn't have many mix-ins, but it wasn't too oily, which I appreciated. The chicken wings were pretty standard with a good amount of crispiness. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but it's not a bad choice either.

We went to the Chinatown night market and instead of grabbing some food there, we decided to give this restaurant a try! From the outside, it's very unassuming, and it may look small at first glance, but there's actually a second floor! It is pretty packed, but if you like that kinda vibe, you'll enjoy it. There were only a few people working, but everything was super efficient. We ordered 2 dishes and they were ready within ~15 minutes. Don't expect their servers to be super polite or "nice,"; they're very to the point and no bullshit. That doesn't mean they're rude or mean by any means, the ladies are very cute and remind me of asian aunties. Overall, this dinner was incredibly worth its price and I would definitely come again whenever in the are!

What I liked most was that the restaurant's interior/decor was reminiscent of the same style you can find in a Hong Kong mom & pop, so the ambiance was nice. The menu offered many items. We got a pork rib and bok choy dish that was rich in black bean sauce drizzled over rice, and a combination won ton soup. Both were delicious. I love that the won ton soup was not heavily salted like they usually are elsewhere. Also want to mention that the won tons were big, juicy and plentiful. My only criticism was that the steamed rice was slightly under. While enjoying our meal, we hear a bird chirping nearby. We looked up and there was a wild bird perched on the air duct near the ceiling. What came to mind was a scene of an old dim sum house in Hong Kong where locals with their cob pipes gathered and brought their singing, caged canary companions to enjoy Sunday brunch. This little detail put a smile on my face. Wait service was friendly and helpful; none of that infamous, ubiquitous, old hostess, rude service you hear about in mom and pop restaurants. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to go back during this same trip, but will visit them again in the future if we get a chance.

Very little restaurant that run over 100 years already.. WoW! Lot of people on the 1st floor so we need to eat on the second floor. Food is ok. Hit the spot. Hong Kong style milk tea is good. I like it. Service is fast. However, I needed to walk downstairs to order extra drink because no waitress/waiter up here. However, I see all guesses come to visit like non stop

I discovered this place from one of the Friday Night Markets in Chinatown and got to finally go to the restaurant! The rice rolls (which everyone goes for) was so worth it. Also got the Chinese donuts which I could pass on but my group loved them. The singapore stlye noodles were good- the curry had a great kick to it and I would order them again! They have the upstairs seating so they can fit more but they just never came back to check on us. it was good though! I would come back for those rice rolls!!

We went to Sam Wo hoping to score dim sum. We didn't know (until leaving) that 1) there is an upstairs area and 2) that's where the dim sum menu is offered. So since we sat downstairs, no dim sum for us! My dining companion had the bbq pork rolls. Since it was the am, I opted for the chicken jook, which we shared after they brought out extra bowls. The spicy mustard is legit; they bottle it and sell it - as they should! Credit cards are accepted; restrooms were clean; service was prompt.

I haven't been to this location since they moved and I remember the old location so it was a treat to come here for lunch after an appointment as it is close to Portsmouth Square Garage so we had a quick lunch here. We ordered several dishes to try and service was attentive and friendly. It was rather quiet the day we visited but we enjoyed the peace to enjoy our meal. We ordered the beef wonton egg noodle soup which had large pieces of meat in the wonton, combination chow mein, BBQ Pork rice noodle roll (not as tasty as I remember it), salt and pepper chicken wings which were tasty, and fish jook (rice porridge) which was hearty and hot! Being here bring a bit of nostalgia even though this is the "new" location, I enjoyed eating here.

My boyfriend grabbed takeout for us from here for a late lunch around 2pm on a Saturday. He ordered maybe 10-15 mins ahead and the food was ready when he arrived. We got chow fun with chicken and dry duck noodles (pictured) and an order of rice noodle rolls (chang fen) with BBQ pork (not pictured). I didn't go to pick up, so I can't speak to the interior or service, but the food was really tasty! Great flavors, generous portion sizes, and pretty reasonable prices. The duck noodles were especially flavorful and all the meat seemed to be pretty good quality! Next time I'm near or in Chinatown I hope to come back!
